I was talking to a line of very important people. During our discussion, the Easter Holiday came up. We all exchanged pleasantries of our plans and asking others what they were doing. Suddenly one of them brings up the latest National hot topic.
"Can you believe that they moved the 4th of July holiday until this weekend?"
"No," says another, "Why would the pea-brained government put two holidays over top of each other like that?"
"It's because like you said, they are PEA-BRAINED."
I chimed in " You guys are joking right? The government didn't move the the 4th of July!"
"It's true, it's been all over the news. Where have you been living? Under a rock?"
"Listen," I said, "There is no reason for them to do that."
"Yes there is! They had a national emergency."
I was skeptical. "An emergency... this far in advance? Okay ladies and gents, this has gone on far enough."
"If you don't believe us, go look for your local fireworks tent."
Later that day I was driving home. I thought to myself how stupid it all was. There was no way that two big holidays were overlapping. After all, the Easter flower tents were set up all over my town. As I rounded the corner onto Lewis Road, I saw it: The fireworks tent being set up. Amid my confusion was the overjoyed excitement of all the things I could blow up!
